Ellee Lee was raised between Seoul and the U.S., where the contrast of cultures and environments shaped an early sensitivity to how architecture quietly influences the way we live. She earned her Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Notre Dame, graduating with the Thesis Award. Her education grounded her in both classical principles and a deep respect for design as a lived experience.

Over the course of a decade, Ellee worked at NADAAA, Robert A.M. Stern Architects, and Yabu Pushelberg—leading projects across scales and typologies, from high-end residences to hospitality and large-scale urban developments.

In 2021, she founded &fold, a design practice rooted in clarity, restraint, and a deep respect for context. For Ellee, architecture is an act of distillation—eliminating the unnecessary in pursuit of spaces that are calm, tactile, and quietly emotive. Her process is deeply collaborative, involving clients, consultants, and craftsmen alike, with the belief that enduring design emerges from shared intention and care. With each project, she seeks to create environments that are not only well-made, but sensitively attuned to how people live, feel, and gather.
